I provide operational and project management support to our firm's management and partners in Central Europe. Back in 2008 I assisted with opening our offices in Warsaw, Prague, Bratislava, and Budapest. As a member of our Steering Groups for South East Europe and Turkey I also co-ordinate referrals in countries where we do not have an office.
When the firm asked me to join, first I wanted to see its management and organisational fabric, and how its lawyers and business services coexist when helping clients.
I found Bird & Bird to be creative, expert, and people-oriented, three key qualities that I've been able to enjoy since 2008. The firm’s strategy enables professionals from all walks of life to contribute - a powerful magnet. And the steps B&B has taken towards credible Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives and business sustainability are particularly close to my heart.
How has working at B&B enhanced your career?
Having spent 9 years in the army, where I had to shoulder impossible tasks, and later having supported and built multiple consulting and legal teams, opening our four offices in Central Europe was a space I wished to inhabit. I wanted to deliver good stuff while allowing others to thrive. The Bird & Bird partners have poured out their trust on me and have made me believe I can add value. Together, we can act as trusted advisors for our clients and those who support them.
A piece of work you undertook @B&B that you were particularly proud of.
Firstly, helping our partners grow the offices from 5 to over 200 members of staff.
Secondly, joining our regional counsel and partners on their journey to higher echelons of service.
Thirdly, signing a co-operation agreement with our Turkish best friends and building a formidable network of best friend firms with whom we serve clients from the Baltic to the Mediterranean.
Last but not least, seeing some of my colleagues becoming really good at what they do.
