I am a London-based partner in our Commercial practice, focusing on public sector and utilities procurement, particularly in infrastructure. I have worked extensively with all manner of Government and regulated bodies both nationally and internationally.
I am a lawyer within the Energy & Infrastructure Group, which sits in the Commercial Department at Bird & Bird. My experience covers the full range of specialisms within our group, from delivering government procurements to advising on contracts for renewables infrastructure projects.
In public procurement, I advise government entities on delivering efficient, useful procurements. This includes working with the client to design a process which will attract the best in the industry and test the bidders in a way that will ultimately identify the tender which represents true value for money for the government client. Where possible, our approach is to use the procurement as a tool to refine the client's requirements and the relevant contract. I have experience delivering procurements across a range of sectors and jurisdictions. In addition to advising on the full life cycle of a procurement, I enjoy preparing discrete advice for clients on difficult aspects of procurement law, including authority classification, exclusions rights, contract modification and framework agreements.
On the contentious side of procurement, my work has involved delivering timely, concise advice to authorities and bidders on prospective challenges and other procurement-related issues. I provide smart, practical strategies for clients across a range of sectors including, amongst others, defence, telecoms, healthcare and construction.
My work on energy & infrastructure contracts cuts across both public and private sector clients. I have worked with FIDIC and NEC contracts, as well as bespoke services agreements for delivery of renewables and other building projects. In addition, I have assisted with transactions related to energy storage and energy transmission.
