About Me

I am a partner in the life sciences sector, specialising in patent litigation and in providing strategic IP advice, as well as working at the interface between IP, commercial and regulatory law.

I am passionate both about science and the life sciences and healthcare sectors. With a science degree and first-hand experience of the life sciences industry (including working in clinical trials before qualifying as lawyer), I am well placed to understand and advise on issues relevant to the sector. I am active in supporting relevant industry associations, notably, the UK BioIndustry Association (BIA), the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) and I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorney's life sciences committee.

I advise global pharmaceutical companies on business critical patent and SPC litigation and strategies, as well as a wide-range of companies across the life sciences and healthcare sector, including innovative biotech companies developing cutting edge technologies, such as gene and cell therapy. This now includes advising on litigation in the UPC. As it is rare that patents operate in isolation, I frequently advise on a broad range of IP, commercial and regulatory issues, as well as on policy issues relevant to the sector.
