Maureen Coen

I am an associate in our London-based Privacy & Data Protection team. I advise UK and international clients on technology, data protection and privacy issues.

My work covers all aspects of data protection law including coordinating multi-jurisdictional EU/UK GDPR compliance projects, developing data protection policies and data processing agreements, advising on direct marketing and cookie regulations and providing assistance with data security incidents, data subject rights requests and data transfers. I also advise on data protection issues within an M&A context and regularly review data protection considerations within commercial agreements.

I have worked with businesses in a range of sectors including media and entertainment, technology, consumer and retail.

Before joining Bird & Bird, I trained as a solicitor and qualified into the Commercial & Technology team of a Tier 1 firm in Ireland. Prior to this, I worked in Management Consulting, specialising in process efficiency and operational effectiveness.
