Marla Melin

I am an associate lawyer in our Corporate and M&A group in Helsinki, where I advise our Finnish and international clients on matters relating to mergers and acquisitions and general corporate law. Contract law is also a special area of interest of mine.

I joined Bird & Bird in spring 2021. Before graduating from the law school of University of Helsinki, I worked as an associate trainee at Bird & Bird. During my studies I also interned at another Finnish law firm. For the greater part of my legal studies, however, I worked in the in-house legal team of a large Finnish healthcare company. Through this experience, I have a good understanding of the challenges our client companies experience in their day-to-day legal matters.

As a lawyer at Bird & Bird, I seek to offer our clients clear, business-minded and practical advice for their complex legal issues. I work fluently in Finnish and English, and I have a good understanding of Swedish.
