Katarína Ondrovicová

I'm a senior associate in our Bratislava office with over 15 years' experience mainly in commercial contracts, corporate and employment law. I have a strong focus on the technology & communications sector.

I also have experience in compliance and regulatory topics, data protection and public procurement. Contract negotiation is one of my strongest legal skills.

My clients include leading international technology corporations, as well as local companies. I also enjoy providing legal support to start-ups bringing new technology to life, which is usually a challenge; however I like to face it and cope with it.

Before joining Bird & Bird, I worked for five years as a country Legal In-house Counsel for an international IT corporation. As a member of the country management team, I held overall responsibility for the legal agenda. My role included the preparation and negotiation of contractual terms for various contracts - service contracts, outsourcing, licensing, cloud computing matters, and other IT-related contracts. I worked extensively on international projects and the local implementation of global agreements and policies. I prepared T&Cs, contract templates and provided cross-departmental legal support. My responsibilities also encompassed employment law, corporate law, public procurement, data protection and compliance. This in-house experience helped me to see my clients' problems and issues through their eyes, and I learnt to take into account the impact on business and to provide business-oriented legal support.

As an independent attorney-at-law, I also worked for several legal firms in Slovakia.

I speak fluent Slovak and English.
