Julia Klingberg

As an associate in our Finance and Finance Regulation group in Stockholm, I provide legal advice on the regulatory frameworks for financial services, with a particular focus on payments regulation.

Before joining Bird & Bird's Stockholm team, I worked as a Regulatory and Public Affairs Advisor for the firm in Brussels. I supported clients primarily in the domain of payments and financial regulation, such as instant payments and EU regulatory issues based on the second Payment Services Directive (PSD2), as well as digital assets and Central bank Digital currencies. This experience gave me an in-depth understanding when it comes to navigating the EU's decision-making processes and engaging with regulators at a European level.

I am also an entrepreneur, having founded, managed and owned a legal tech company. That endeavor provided me with a keen understanding of the corporate perspective involved in legal matters. Prior to this, I also worked as an advisor to a Member of the European Parliament.
