Ina Weygant

I am a Senior Data Protection Advisor within Bird & Bird Privacy Solutions in London.

With over 10 years of experience, both as an inhouse counsel and in professional services, I advised multinational organisations in diverse sectors including financial services, technology, transportation, and aviation on a wide range of privacy and data protection matters, including the development and implementation of global data protection programmes across a number of jurisdictions in Europe, US, South America, Asia, and Australia.

Before joining Bird & Bird, I was the Privacy Director and Global Data Protection Officer of an Amsterdam-based core-banking SaaS provider, where I oversaw the group privacy strategy and operations, by holistically incorporating the applicable data protection requirements in the organisation's product development, business processes and operations.

Prior to that, I worked as the Group Data Protection Officer of a Hong Kong based international airline, where I was responsible for the implementation and oversight of the global data protection programme of the airline and its subsidiaries, including its loyalty and frequent-flyer program.

I have hands on experience in carrying out complex privacy impact assessments, including for the use of cloud technology and the implementation of AI powered tools and products, managing the complexities of cross-border data transfers, engaging processors and sub-processors, implementing and maintaining group-wide Record of Processing Activities, handling and coordinating cross-jurisdictional personal data breach responses, and liaising with Data Protection Authorities in the UK, EMEA and APAC.

I hold a Master of Law (LLM) in Information & Communications Technology Law at the University of Oslo.

I am certified by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) with the CIPM, CIPP/A, and FIP designations.
