About Me

I am a lawyer in our Finance & Financial Regulation in Paris and Brussels, specialising in Banking and Insurance with a particular focus on Fintechs and Insurtechs. As as senior lawyer, I pour all my energy into strengthening client relationships, providing business-oriented advice to sustain our clients' business opportunities and growth.

Over the past 11 years, I have developed a solid cross-practice expertise in insurance and banking regulatory and advice clients on various licensing, governance, prudential and distribution issues deriving from EU regulations (CRDV, Solvency II, IDD, PSD2, AMLD, MiFID, etc.) as well as domestic legislations.

My primary responsibilities at Bird & Bird are to meet your needs and expectations and assist you in relation to all banking, financial and insurance regulatory issues that your may encounter.

I will be delighted to work with you, whatever your needs, to establish new Fintechs or Insurtechs subsidiaries or branches in France, explore complex issues regarding payment services and electronic money, conduct licensing and registration process with French authorities, get or extend passporting permissions, review your procedures and guidelines, improve your cross-border operations, outsource your activities, and in general, ensure that you comply with all EU and French regulatory requirements.

Before joining Bird & Bird, I worked for 9 years in other leading international law firms and for 2 years within the reinsurance industry.

I also lived for 5 years in Brazil and have acquired some knowledge about Brazilian banking, payment services and insurance industry. I speak fluent Portuguese and work in French and in English.
Experience
  • Five recent deals I was involved in:
  • transferring a non-life insurance portfolio from a French branch of an European insurance company to another European insurer;
  • assisting a Fintech on the legal aspects of its business model, including the qualification of the services under French law and its registration process with competent authorities;
  • assisting a major payment services provider on Buy Now Pay Later payment schemes they intended to implement in France;
  • assisting a foreign export credit agency in the expansion of its activities to France; and
  • assisting a major international bank in the review of its corporate account documentation.
