Tom advises on a wide range of contentious intellectual property matters across the Telecommunications, Life Sciences and Food & Beverage sectors.
Tom is an associate in our Intellectual Property Group, based in London.
Since joining Bird & Bird in 2011, Tom has been involved in a broad range of contentious intellectual property matters relating to patents, trade marks, passing off and breach of confidence. These include proceedings in the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court, Patents Court and Court of Appeal, including Nokia v Apple, HTC v Nokia, Danisco v Novozymes and Hometrack v Landmark. He also has broad experience establishing and administering EU-wide anti-counterfeiting programmes.
He has particular experience in international arbitration, recently acting in two complex, high value ICC arbitrations seated in Paris and New York, both in the telecommunications sector.
Tom graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2010 with a degree in Law. Since being admitted as a solicitor in 2013, he has completed the Postgraduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and Practice at the University of Oxford, with distinction.
