Pin-Ping is Counsel in the Intellectual Property and Tech & Comms Groups, based in Singapore.
Pin-Ping is involved in both contentious and non-contentious IP work, and has represented clients in a range of IP disputes including in civil suits before the High Court for copyright, patent and trade mark infringement, passing off, and misuse of confidential information, and trade mark invalidation actions before the Trade Marks Registry.
Notably, Pin-Ping was involved in a number of high-profile copyright infringement cases, including RecordTV v MediaCorp involving a claim by the national broadcaster against an online start-up, and Singapore Press Holdings v Yahoo Singapore.
Advising clients across the technology, media, entertainment and communications sectors, Pin-Ping's work covers various aspects of IP law, including freedom to operate issues, patent and trade mark infringement and validity. She has also drafted and advised clients on a variety of IP contracts including patent, trade mark and copyright licensing, software development, support services, and franchise agreements.
Before joining us, Pin-Ping gained experience at a patent firm, where she drafted and prosecuted patent applications in diverse technology areas including electronics, semiconductor and food technology.
A registered Singapore Patent Agent, Pin-Ping also has experience in the semiconductor industry, having worked as a process engineer in a high-volume wafer fabrication plant.
