Mikkel is a leading expert within Competition, Public Procurement and gambling law.

Mikkel is a Senior Associate in our Competition & EU group, based in Denmark. He leads our Competition Law team in Denmark. 

For the past 12 years, Mikkel has been working in competition and public procurement law. He has also advised clients on Danish online gambling legislation for the past 8 years.

His competition practice covers all aspects of competition law, including articles 101 and 102 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU), state aid and merger control.

Mikkel advises clients on the full range of public procurement procedures. He advises all types of contracting authorities on the development and implementation of EU procurement, national procurements, public-private cooperation and other projects, as well as private companies in tender procedures. Mikkel has extensive experience of handling complaints submitted to the Complaints Board and has experience of being responsible for tender procedures with a large Danish Contracting Authority.

He has represented clients under investigation for infringements of competition rules, obtained merger control clearance and filed complaints. He regularly organises antitrust audits to help identify current or potential infringements and devises compliance programmes.

Mikkel is a leading expert in gambling legislation and has been actively involved as an adviser in the making of the Danish Gambling law. He advises international online gambling operators and platform providers on all aspects of the Danish gambling legislation, including the complicated application process and the regulatory issues in connection with international transactions.

Mikkel has authored several articles and is the co-author of the Danish chapter in the “ICLG International Comparative Legal Guide: Gambling 2015”.

Mikkel is fluent in Danish and English and understands the Scandinavian languages.
