As Counsel of the German and international dispute resolution teams, I advise clients on disputes before state courts as well as in national and international arbitration proceedings.

I deal with various questions that are to do with the litigation before a state court or an arbitral tribunal. However, the assignment starts long before the beginning of a dispute – with the clarification of the facts and the development of a process strategy with the client.

In terms of substantive law, the main focus of my work is on aspects relating to contract and commercial law, often in the energy sector. The spectrum comprises large-scale court disputes concerning grid connection systems in the German North Sea as well as adjustments to long-term contracts within arbitration proceedings in relation to a pump storage power plant. I also focus on distribution law disputes which deal with the enforcement or defence of various legal positions resulting from the termination of a distribution contract.

In addition to my knowledge of the English language and legal system, which are indispensable in my daily practice, my Czech language skills and understanding of Czech legal enable me to follow the developments in the Czech legal system. Of particular interest to me is the new Czech Civil Code, which came into force in 2014 and is the subject of my doctoral dissertation.
