Marcus has extensive experience in complex employment and compliance issues and offers pragmatic solutions
Marcus has been managing partner of our office in The Hague since 2015 and is part of our International HR Services Practice. He is also a member of our Tech & Comms and Media Groups.
He advises and litigates on the full spectrum of employment-related matters and focuses particularly on corporate employment law. With over 20 years of experience, Marcus often provides strategic advice on corporate restructurings, disciplinary procedures and management issues, such as the dismissal and reward of board members and executives.
In addition, Marcus is particularly experienced in advising on complex employees' representation issues and litigation, including litigation at the Amsterdam Entrepreneurial Chamber.
Marcus' client base includes multinationals, educational institutions and health care institutions, as well as works councils and board members.
Marcus is a member of the Rotterdam Employment Lawyers Association and the Association of Employment Law. He regularly speaks at seminars. Marcus has published in several professional journals on various aspects of employment law, such as the limitation of severance payments of older employees and the protection of sick employees.
Marcus was admitted to the bar in 1995 and joined us in 2013. He has a degree in Private and Company Law from the University of Groningen. Marcus also studied company law at the University of Göttingen in Germany.
