Marcin has more than ten year's practical experience of real estate law, making him a real expert in a wide range of property matters.
Marcin is the Counsel who leads our Polish Real Estate team. He is based in Warsaw.
A legal advisor (radca prawny) who has been handling real estate transactions and advising clients on a broad range of real estate law issues since 2001, Marcin specialises in providing comprehensive advice on real estate acquisition and sale deals. His advice encompasses the structuring of the deal, conducting due diligence examinations of projects, drawing up transactional documentation, participating in negotiations, assisting in obtaining financing, through to the closing of the transaction and implementation of post-closing actions. He has worked on transactions relating to shopping centers, office buildings, residential projects, and logistics centers.
He has significant practical experience of the development of various kinds of buildings, having dealt with matters related to spatial development and obtaining administrative decisions for investments. He has drawn up and negotiated construction contracts, agreements with architects, design agreements, and investment supervision agreements.
Marcin frequently advises clients in the course of negotiations related to leasing of space in office buildings, shopping centers and logistics centers. He has participated in "sale and lease back" transactions related to real estate projects as well as in leasing transactions.
During his career he has often dealt with restitution claims (including various proceedings related to the so-called "Bierut Decree"), matters related to public roads (including cases of expropriation), problems arising in connection with the Water Law, and laws on preservation of monuments.
In addition, Marcin has experience of advising clients on real estate financing and using real estate as collateral. He has advised both Polish and international banks and the borrowers – preparing and helping negotiate credit and collateral documentation.
From 2009 until 2017, Marcin worked for one of the largest international law firms in Poland, where he was a member of the German Desk. In addition to a number of real estate transactions, he also advised on corporate matters on an ongoing basis and provided corporate housekeeping for a corporate group with regard to real estate investments.
From 2006 until 2009, he worked for two prestigious law firms, advising German-speaking clients on matters related to real estate and financing of transactions.
Marcin is a graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw.
