I'm a senior associate in our IP Group in London where I specialise in patents and designs.

As a dual-qualified solicitor and patent attorney, with a background in engineering, I readily advise tech-focused clients on all aspects of patents and designs, from filing and prosecution strategies to conducting litigation.

I have developed unique experience and insight into all stages of a patent, from its filling and prosecution to litigation.

In recent years I have worked on a number of UK High Court cases for clients in a wide range of industries, from life sciences to telecoms, and involving patents relating to a variety of technologies, including gene therapy (RNAi), LEDs and video coding (H.264, HEVC). Most of these cases involved parallel proceedings in multiple jurisdictions, including in the US (ITC, District, PTAB), France, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Sweden, Hong Kong and at the EPO.

I have worked on a number of ICC arbitration cases on 3G/4G Standard Essential Patent portfolio valuation and FRAND royalty rates.

I also work closely with clients in the retail sector, particularly in the home improvements area, providing freedom-to-operate opinions and enforcement advice on patents and designs relating to household goods, as well as managing their IP disputes.

As a qualified European patent attorney, I have experience in drafting and prosecuting European and UK patent applications for clients in the IT, telecoms, automotive and energy sectors, and have worked on a number of opposition cases at the EPO.
