I work as an associate in our Sports Group in London, where, as a former athlete, I have real insight into the sports industry and the issues faced by governing bodies, athletes and clubs.

I am experienced in advising on sports-related commercial issues and have acted for governing bodies, event organisers, clubs and commercial sponsors across a range of sports including football, rugby union, motorsport and athletics. I have also been involved in the drafting of sporting rules and regulations as well as advising on a number of advertising and promotional marketing matters.

As part of my training contract, I spent time on secondment with a national sports governing body. Whilst on secondment I assisted with various commercial and regulatory matters and was able to develop my industry experience and gain real commercial insight.

I am heavily involved in our media, entertainment and sport sector and am a member of our MediaWrites editorial team, our legal and industry news hub for the media, entertainment and sports industries.Through this role I have been able to develop relationships within this sector across departments and offices and am constantly up to date with the key topics and challenges companies are facing in this area.

Prior to joining Bird & Bird LLP I was a professional hockey player winning a bronze medal with the GB women's hockey team at the London 2012 Olympic Games and a gold medal at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. I am also currently a member of the British Olympic Association's Athletes' Commission.
