Stefan advises on technical property rights, particularly in the areas of chemistry, pharmaceuticals and medical devices
Stefan is a member of our German Intellectual Property Practice Group in Munich. He is admitted to practice as a German Patent Attorney, European Patent Attorney and European Trademark and Design Attorney.
Prior to joining us in 2018, he worked in the Munich office of a renowned German patent attorney firm for several years .
Stefan advises and represents clients in the field of technical property rights, in particular in inter partes proceedings before the German Patent and Trademark Office, the European Patent Office and the Federal Patent Court. His focus also includes the participation in infringement proceedings.
His technical focus is in the field of chemistry with a special emphasis on inorganic chemistry, chemical engineering, pharmaceutical chemistry and pharmaceutical formulations. He also advises on issues related to medical devices.
Stefan studied chemistry at the University of Freiburg. He worked as an intern in the research and development department of F. Hoffmann-La Roche in Basel (Switzerland) as well as in the intellectual property department of BASF in Ludwigshafen.
His doctoral research paper at the Technical University of Munich covered the design and synthesis of novel antibiotics. After a research stay at Imperial College London (United Kingdom) he obtained his doctorate in 2012.
Stefan is a member of the German Chambers of Patent Attorneys, the Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office (EPI) and the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (GRUR).
