Overview

Chris is a flexible and proactive team player, advising on both commercial and regulatory sports matters.

Chris is an associate in our Sports Group, based in London.

He advises clients on a range of sports-related issues including the drafting of rules and regulations, disciplinary and anti-doping matters, and commercial dispute resolution. Chris is developing a specific expertise in issues around the eligibility of athletes to compete in sport, including nationality, sex and gender, and the classification of para-athletes. He has acted for international and national governing bodies, event organisers, clubs and individuals across a range of sports, including athletics, tennis, football, rugby union and motor sport.

Chris trained with us and qualified in September 2017, having completed a secondment to a national sports governing body where he assisted with day to day commercial agreements and a large scale regulatory investigation.

Prior to joining us, Chris managed the resolution of sports disputes at Sport Resolutions, including cases before the UK National Anti-Doping Panel. He has a Master's degree in Sports Law, and has also completed the BASL Sports Law and Practice post-graduate certificate, run by De Montfort University.
