Our team led by partner Jori Taipale (Corporate, Finland) advised Movial Corporation, a global software engineering and design services company specializing in mobile and embedded devices, in connection with their divestment of certain technology and knowhow to Microsoft Corporation. Other key members of our team were Counsel Mika Puurunen (Corporate) and Partner Teea Kemppinen (Employment).
In the transaction, over 60 Movial employees based in Romania, USA and Taiwan joined the Microsoft Devices organization to continue the company's investment in Android platform development efforts. Microsoft will continue to expand its software engineering teams that support Windows and Android development efforts, and the Movial office in Iasi, Romania will become the fourth technology development center in the region for Microsoft.
