Bird & Bird ties up with bid management consultancy Shine Bid Services to launch new joint offering, Foothold

International law firm Bird & Bird has entered into an innovative new cooperation agreement with Shine Bid Services, a leading bid management consultancy.

The alliance, branded as Foothold, is spearheaded by Bird & Bird's international projects and procurement team, which supports clients on major infrastructure and technology projects.

Shine Bid Services is one of the UK’s leading authorities on winning government and highly regulated bids.

Foothold brings together the legal and bid expertise of the two companies, providing the world's most ambitious companies with fully integrated support on bids and helping them tap into the best opportunities globally.

The move comes against a backdrop of fast moving new legislation and regular case law changing the obligations on public bodies, companies doing business with them, or those providing finance.

The current commercialisation of government departments in the UK, allied with the impending changes facing procurement law flowing from Brexit, offers many opportunities for fast-growth international businesses looking to enter the UK through major projects.

Stuart Cairns, procurement partner at international law firm Bird & Bird says:

"I have worked closely with Shine Bid Services for a number of years and have seen first-hand the positive impact they have for international corporates looking to enter the UK market for the first time.

"This association allows our clients to benefit from a collaborative approach, matching comprehensive legal insight with a competitive edge that translates into tangible results."

Anne McNamara, CEO at Shine Bid Services, says:

"Foothold is a unique solution that offers businesses a secure and economical alternative to what is traditionally a high risk and high investment route into the UK Market.

"We look forward to continuing to work with Stuart and the Bird & Bird team. We are very excited by this association and by what Foothold can achieve for globally ambitious businesses."
