Bird & Bird advises Medoma on its SEK 63 million fund raising

International law firm Bird & Bird advised the Swedish virtual ward company Medoma on its SEK 63 million fund raising.

The fund raising was led by Inventure and Bonnier Ventures, with involvement from Biovestor, VNV Global, Segulah and Cherry Ventures.

Medoma is a Nordic.founded virtual ward company offering patients acute hospital care in their home instead of in hospital. The care is conducted with a combination of physical visits from medical staff (doctors, nurses and physiotherapists) as well as digital consultations, coordinated through a tech platform monitoring vital parameters, as well as optimising “care-out-of-home” logistics. The investment will finance and enable the launch of Medoma’s new virtual hospital beds.

The Swedish Bird & Bird team advising on the fund raising consisted of Elin Sundblad (associate, Corporate), Lukas Holmberg (associate, Corporate) and Johanna Larsson (associate, Corporate) and was led by partner Martin Folke (Corporate).
