Bird & Bird grows its Corporate practice in Warsaw with the appointment of Ludomir Biedecki as partner

International law firm Bird & Bird today grows its Corporate practice in Warsaw with the appointment of Ludomir Biedecki as a partner.

Ludomir joins Bird & Bird from Noerr where he was co-head of the firm’s Corporate/M&A and Banking & Finance practice. He specialises in advising listed and private companies, as well as private equity firms on a variety of corporate matters, both domestic and cross-border, including share and asset transactions, mergers and private equity investments. He also often acts for issuers, investment banks and shareholders on a wide range of equity market transactions (ECM and DCM), including IPOs, SPOs, management stock options programmes, public takeovers, squeeze-outs, de-listings and issuances of bonds, as well as banking and finance companies around financing and business restructurings.

Ludomir’s arrival comes as part of the strategic expansion of Bird & Bird’s Corporate practice in Warsaw. His arrival will boost the team’s capabilities in relation to its transactional work in Poland.

Joining with Ludomir from Noerr are Sylwia Urbańska (associate) and Justyna Ciepła (associate), as well as Wojciech Nowosad (associate) from The Polish Development Fund (PFR), but previously also from Noerr.

Slawomir Szepietowski, managing partner of Bird & Bird’s office in Warsaw comments: “I’m delighted that Ludomir will be joining Bird & Bird during such an exciting period of expansion. He will bring a wealth of expertise in the M&A and private equity sector, broadening our offering and strengthening the Warsaw office’s positioning in the Polish Corporate M&A market. Welcome to the team Ludomir!”

Alberto Salvadè and Matt Bonass, co-heads of Bird & Bird’s International Corporate practice add: “Poland’s M&A and private equity sectors continue to undergo vast expansion. With Ludomir on board, we will be able to expand our offering in capital markets, as well as grow our expertise in transactions in the IT and FinTech sectors, both locally in Poland and across the Bird & Bird network.”

Ludomir says: “I am very excited to be joining Bird & Bird, a truly international firm that offers a global perspective. By combining our strengths, the firm will be even more active in terms of M&A and private equity work in Poland and the CEE region. I look forward to collaborating with my new Corporate colleagues across various specialised teams in different jurisdictions.”
