Bird & Bird's French offices are pleased to enter into a partnership with the association Droit comme un H! The firm intends to extend its commitment to diversity and the inclusion of people with disabilities and is integrating disability-related actions into its roadmap to accelerate this transformation. It will welcome interns with disabilities in its teams from 2023 and will participate in numerous internal and external actions on the subject.
Droit comme un H! is an association born out of the transformation of a collective created by Stéphane Baller in February 2017 to enable young talented people with disabilities to gain access to the legal professions, particularly initially those of business lawyer or corporate lawyer/tax specialist. The association detects talent from the Bachelor's degree onwards, searches for potential employers, promotes disability in the legal professions through visibility and lobbying actions.
This new initiative of the Bird & Bird fund is part of the firm's Diversity and CSR policy, which currently supports nearly ten initiatives, including the associations Le refuge, Un Petit Bagage d'Amour, Viens Voir Mon Taf, Urgence Identité Afrique, as well as Les Musiciens de la prée, Courir pour Elles and La Cravate Solidaire.
Boris Martor, Bird & Bird partner, administrator of the Bird & Bird & Diversity and CSR endowment fund: "We are delighted to be involved with Droit comme un H and to promote the inclusion of people with disabilities in the legal profession. This new aspect of our actions reflects the strong personal commitments of our teams who contribute each year to developing new initiatives to promote a fairer and more inclusive world."
Stéphane Baller, lawyer and initiator of the project declares: "We are delighted to welcome Bird & Bird among our members and to be able to offer new opportunities to the talents of the program, in Paris as well as in Lyon. The commitment of a firm like Bird and Bird, known for its innovation demonstrates that diversity and added value of disability strengthens a successful organization. Be confident and apply to join the program, benefit from a solid support towards the business law profession".
