Bird & Bird advises MSA Safety on the acquisition of U.K. firefighter turnout gear manufacturer Bristol Uniforms

International law firm Bird & Bird advised global safety equipment manufacturer MSA Safety Incorporated (NYSE: MSA) on the acquisition of U.K.-based Bristol Uniforms (“Bristol”) in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $60 million. The acquisition strengthens MSA's position as a global leader in fire service PPE products while providing an avenue to expand its business in the U.K. and key European markets.



Headquartered in Bristol, U.K., Bristol Uniforms is a leading innovator and provider of protective apparel to the fire and rescue services sector, with annual revenue of approximately $40 million. MSA Safety Incorporated was advised by London Corporate partner Neil Blundell and supported by associates Richie Lamb and Greg Turton. The team was also supported by legal director, Simon Gough and associate Andrew Rink on the Tax aspects, along with the head of the Retail & Consumer group Graeme Payne and associate James Fowler.
