Bird & Bird announces the arrival of Frédéric Portal as Counsel in the IP team - European Patent Attorney and member of the Paris Bar, Frédéric is a recognized expert with more than 20 years of experience in two of France's leading patent law firms. His arrival contributes to the strengthening of the patent team in the life sciences sector.
With a team of 3 European patent attorneys and 8 specialised lawyers, Bird & Bird's patent team is one of the most structured and efficient teams on the French market. This reinforcement is in line with the very active preparation within Bird & Bird of the forthcoming launch of the Unified Patent Jurisdiction (UPJ).
Frédéric Portal is an engineer from the Chemistry, Physics and Electronics School of Lyon (CPE Lyon). He works in all fields of chemistry and particularly in life sciences. After graduating from CEIPI, he worked as an Industrial Property Attorney at Beau de Loménie and then as a partner at Lavoix. He holds a Master's degree in Intellectual Property Law from the University of Strasbourg and is now a member of the Paris Bar.
