International law firm Bird & Bird collected 'Equity Deal of the Year' at the 2020 Airline Economics Aviation 100 Awards in Dublin this week for the 27-aircraft joint venture between CCB Leasing International and Norwegian. The deal has the potential to cut Norwegian’s committed capital expenditure by approximately $1.5 billion. It is the first joint venture between an airline and a leasing company.
A Bird & Bird team led by London finance partner Richard Sharman advised CCBLI on the deal and was supported by corporate partner Clive Hopewell and corporate counsel Nicholas Heap.
