Bird & Bird London celebrates tenth anniversary of its Bursary Scheme

This year marks the ten year anniversary of Bird & Bird London's Bursary Scheme. The scheme was started in 2009 to address the financial hurdles that often deters bright young people from socially disadvantaged areas of the UK from attending university. The bursary provides financial support to recipients for each year of their degree, a mentoring programme to assist students throughout their studies, three workshops a year during their three years at University and one weeks' work experience in our London office.

To mark the occasion, the team at Bird & Bird has created a video that covers the highlights of the Bursary Scheme over the last ten years. It features Simon Shooter (Partner, Commercial), Lynne Walters (Head of Graduate and Trainee Management), Laura Whelan (Global CR & Diversity Manager) and current bursary recipient Charlotte Addley, who talk about how the scheme has developed over the years and the support that recipients receive.
