Bird & Bird boosts German commercial practice with the appointment of Hartmut Hörner as a partner in Hamburg

International law firm Bird & Bird has welcomed Hartmut Hörner as a partner in the commercial practice group of the Hamburg office with a sector focus on Tech & Comms, Financial Services and Life Sciences. 

Hartmut joins from one of the Big4 in Switzerland where he served as General Counsel and was particularly involved as a partner in the areas of Consulting Quality & Risk Management, as well as local and international client contracting.  Prior to this, Hartmut held positions at an international management consultancy and another Big4 Firm.

He has more than 20 years of experience as a lawyer and in-house counsel, particularly in international contract law, quality risk management and IT law. His main areas of expertise are within drafting, negotiating and executing all types of contracts, in particular, complex framework agreements or technology projects including technological development and innovation projects, licenses, IT and business process outsourcing (BPO). Other focuses include the provision of advice on contractual and regulatory issues in the areas of data protection / privacy (especially international traffic), IT security and digital media / services.
