International law firm Bird & Bird will move to new premises in Sydney's iconic MLC Centre on Monday, 9 September 2019. Located on Levels 21 and 22 of the landmark building, designed by Harry Seidler, the new office will accommodate the dynamic Australian team.
The move launches a new chapter in the development and growth of Bird & Bird in Australia. Due to significant expansion over the past 24 months, larger and more connected office space was required to accommodate the office's growing headcount, which now exceeds 100.
The contiguous floors share a central staircase, linking a combined café and library with the brand new reception, and selection of adaptable, contemporary client conference rooms.
Shane Barber, Managing Partner of Bird & Bird Australia says: "With new open plan design, generous spacing, upgraded technological inclusions, leafy indoor plants, splashes of colour and lots of light, the premises bring new energy for our growing team. We are embracing the exciting new possibilities for even greater collaboration across our practice areas and sectors, and business functions, in a contemporary office environment."
"Creativity has been identified as a core theme in the development – and meeting rooms have been named to reflect innovation & inspiration in science, technology and the creative arts. Technology and innovation is at the very heart of what we do – so it's fantastic to have a new office, in an architecturally iconic building, which reflects this," Shane added.
Bird & Bird's Australian office advises clients across the Asia Pacific region in relation to corporate and commercial law, intellectual property, competition law, dispute resolution, employment, real estate, restructuring and insolvency and privacy and data protection.
The project was managed by Cerno, designed by Geyer and built by Intermain.
