Negotiations due to kick off on Cyber Solidarity Act

EU Member States recently reached a common position to strengthen the Union’s solidarity and capacities to detect, prepare for and respond to cybersecurity threats and incidents. At the meeting on 20 December 2023, Member States’ representatives reached a common position on the so-called 'Cyber Solidarity Act'. Following this agreement, “trilogue” negotiations between the Council, the European Parliament and the European Commission can now start in the context of the ordinary legislative procedure.
