Flash Info - “Place au soleil” call for expressions of interest

The French Ministry of the Armed Forces published on 1st May 2021 its third “Place au soleil” call for expressions of interest (AMI) for the development of photovoltaic installations. This new round, subsequent to two initial AMIs, aims to release approximately 186 ha of land on 7 military sites in metropolitan France (Bretagne, Centre-Val-de-Loire, Grand-Est, PACA, Corse and Île de France) and one in the French overseas territories (La Réunion).

The Istres military airbase (Base Aérienne 125) is alone able to offer a developer 64,5 ha of public land for the implementation of PV plants.

Candidates will be able to withdraw their application file from 17 May 2021 to 18 June 2021 at 12:00, and the offer must be submitted by 9 July 2021 at 12:00.
The "Place au soleil" national plan is intended to accelerate the development and deployment of solar energy in France, in line with the objectives of the PPE (“Programmation Pluriannuelle pour l’Energie”). To this end, the Ministry of the Armed Forces has committed to releasing over 2,000 hectares of land before 2022.
