In February 2019, the President of the UAE, Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, issued Federal Law No. 2 of 2019 ('the Law'). This was the first piece of federal legislation in the UAE that directly addressed data protection principles, and it applies specifically to companies providing services related to the healthcare industry.
