In July 2020, the European Data Protection Board (“EDPB”) has published its guidelines on the interplay between PSD2 and GDPR for public consultation. While the guidelines confirm the EDPB’s previous remarks on the two laws — such as the lawful basis for processing personal data in the Open Banking ecosystem — the guidelines perhaps add further uncertainty on what organisations should be doing in practice.
Join us for a workshop on 10 September 2020 to discuss the guidelines and their impact with expert legal and industry speakers, as well as what further clarity the EDPB can provide to help organisations understand their compliance obligations in Open Banking. We will submit the output of those discussions to the EDPB.
