EU AI Act for developers

This session will provide an in-depth look at several critical aspects of the AI Act from the perspective developers of AI both internal teams of developers in companies that plan to use AI in their IT systems or application and those in tech startups.

Firstly, it will offer an overview of the latest draft text of the EU AI Act, focusing on its implications and updates. Secondly, the seminar will delve into the risk-based model of AI regulation, an approach that categorises AI systems based on their potential impact and associated risks.

A significant portion of the seminar will be dedicated to discussing the regulation of generative AI foundational models, referred to as LGAIM in the text of the EU AI Act draft. This will include an examination of how these models are currently treated under the Act and the potential challenges and opportunities this presents for developers.

The seminar will also feature insights from an EU-based AI developer, providing a practitioner's perspective on the Act's approach to regulating AI systems and applications.
