NIS2 and CER Directives: current status and what companies need to do to prepare for toughened cybersecurity requirements

Businesses today are facing an increasingly challenging landscape when it comes to cybersecurity. We are witnessing a trend of increasing regulation in this area, with EU legislators having completed their work on the NIS2 and CER Directives - two key cybersecurity related legislation that came into force on 16 January 2023.

It is now up to EU Member States to transpose these pieces of legislation, which covers a wide range of businesses including data centres, healthcare, cloud, as well as trusted service and communications providers, into national laws. This task must be completed by 17 October 2024, and from 18 October 2024, Member States will apply the measures contained in the national transposition acts. Some Member States may choose to introduce additional provisions going beyond the minimum requirements introduced by the NIS2 and CER Directives.

Join this session, where our legal experts will provide more information regarding the new cybersecurity legislation, its scope and what you need to do to be prepared. Our experts will also look at how the NIS2 and CER Directives interact with other legislation, in particular the Regulation on Digital Operational Resilience for the Financial Sector (DORA), the proposed Cyber Resilience Act and Cyber Solidarity Act. We will also provide an overview of the current status of implementation for the NIS2 and CER Directives across the EU.

If you have a business in the EU and are concerned about cybersecurity, this webinar will be invaluable.
