EU State Aid Policy: The Forecast for the Next Five Years

The European University Institute (EUI) and Bird & Bird LLP cordially invite you to join a Seminar entitled “EU State Aid Policy: the Forecast for the next Five Years”. The event, organised in the context of the Florence Competition Programme (FCP), will take place at Bird & Bird’s Brussels office in the afternoon of 28 November 2019.
The seminar will gather academics, practitioners, officials from national governments and EU institutions, along with industry representatives, to debate the incoming Commission's expected competition policy developments for the next five years, with particular focus on State Aid. The program will include an exchange of views on the findings of a recent study regarding the enforcement of State aid law by national courts.
Other questions that will be discussed include: (i) which sectors will the Commission be focusing on in the coming five years?; (ii) latest developments in the application of EU State aid law to tax arrangements; (iii) will national courts play an increasingly important role in the next five years?; and much more. This will be a highly topical event with top-level speakers.
The seminar will close with a networking cocktail.
