“The patentability of humans” deals with the legal and ethical issues of the patentability of human-biotechnology inventions. It covers legal developments in Germany, Europe and the USA. In particular the patentability of biotechnological inventions like human genes, DNA-sequences, stem cells or cloning methods are discussed under consideration of the EC Biotechnology-Directive and the TRIPs-agreement.
