Overview

Tamás offers a wealth of experience in banking and finance matters

Tamás is a Special Counsel in our Banking & Finance group, based in Budapest.

He has over 20 years' experience specialising in banking and finance, project finance, bankruptcy & restructuring and general corporate and insolvency law matters. He regularly advises Hungarian and international financial institutions, borrowers and sponsors on complex financing transactions, including acquisition and project financing, as well as refinancing and debt restructuring.

His experience includes advising banks, borrowers, sponsors and developers in connection with various financing matters, including power-plant and other infrastructure projects. Tamás has specific experience in insolvency law matters, and with construction contracts related to real estate and infrastructure projects.

Before joining us, Tamás worked at another leading international firm in Budapest for over 14 years. His past experience also includes four years working in London, first at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and later in the project finance department of a major international law firm. During this time, he worked on legal aspects of the financing of diverse public and private projects in Central and Eastern Europe countries and in the former Soviet Union, including motorways and port developments.

Tamás holds JD degrees from the University of Novi Sad, Yugoslavia and Eötvös Loránd University, Hungary as of 2000, as well as an LLM from Central European University, Hungary. He is a member of the Budapest Bar. 

In addition to his native Hungarian, Tamás speaks fluent English and Serbo-Croatian.
