Pekka Takki

As Of Counsel in our Commercial group in Helsinki, I'm an experienced lawyer specialising in technology, ICT contracts and advisory work.

During a career spanning 30 years, I have acted as a legal adviser to a significant number of companies who focus on technology and ICT. I am also experienced in dispute resolution, both as an attorney and as an arbitrator.

I was one of the founding partners of Fennica Attorneys which merged with Bird & Bird in 2008. After a detour working at a small technology law firm from 2012 to 2017, I then returned to our firm in the role of Of Counsel.

Over the years, I have written and lectured extensively on contracting issues and am a sought-after speaker on topics in IT law and contract law, both for commercial seminars and in academia. In 2010 I was made an honorary member of the Finnish IT Law Association.

I have authored the first two editions, and together with Sakari Halonen, the third edition of the leading Finnish textbook on IT law, IT Contracts – Practical Guide (in Finnish IT-sopimukset Käytännön käsikirja, Alma Talent, 2017), which is widely used as a textbook in law faculties of Finnish universities as well as other educational institutions.

In addition to my native Finnish, I am fluent in English and Swedish.
