Gildas Louvel

I am a partner in our International Corporate Group based in Paris. With vast experience in a wide range of transactions, I specialise in mergers and acquisitions as well as private equity in France and Africa.

Here at Bird & Bird, I advise public and private French and foreign groups, from the industrial or services sectors, on their M&A operations – including sales, acquisitions, joint ventures, majority or minority investments and reorganisations.

Additionally, as head of our African Group in Paris, I lead the dedicated team representing corporations, private equity investors, governments and state-owned entities, and advise on the risks and opportunities of M&A projects in Africa.

Before joining our firm in 2009, I worked in a British law firm where I developed expertise in 'own account' M&A transactions and reorganisations for credit institutions and insurance companies. I previously worked in two French law firms.
