Dániel offers clients a wealth of Energy, Competition and Tech & Comms expertise
Dániel is a Senior Associate in the firm's Corporate, Commercial and Competition & EU practices groups, based in Budapest. He focuses on regulatory and competition matters in the energy sector, but also has significant experience in the Tech & Comms industries.
In the energy sector, Dániel has advised Hungarian and international clients in a wide range of matters, including mergers and acquisitions, due diligence exercises, restructurings, conventional, renewable and nuclear power plant and other infrastructure development projects. He has also assisted clients in the drafting and negotiation of retail and wholesale power, natural gas and greenhouse gas allowances sale and purchase agreements, as well as agreements related to natural gas exploration and production. Dániel has provided legal advice in various other energy regulatory matters, including the mandatory off-take regime, unbundling rules, licensing and regulatory approvals. He has also represented clients before the Hungarian Energy and Public Utility Regulatory Authority and the European Commission.
Daniel has advised Hungarian and international clients in a wide range of competition matters, including competition law aspects of M&A transactions, merger clearance procedures, anti-trust and cartel investigations, sector inquiries and state aid issues. He has represented clients before the Hungarian Competition Authority and the European Commission. Further, Daniel has coordinated merger clearance procedures in a number of foreign jurisdictions.
In the Tech & Comms industries, Daniel has advised Hungarian and international clients in connection with, among others, spectrum management, frequency tenders, obligations imposed on operators with significant market power and market analysis procedures as well as regarding the implementation of EU directives and the drafting of legal instruments in the fields of media and telecommunications. Daniel also assisted clients in the start-up and registration of electronic communication services in Hungary as well as the drafting of general terms and conditions and retail service agreements. Further, Daniel assisted in the drafting of due diligence and transaction documents in connection with M&A transactions in the Tech & Comms field.
Prior to joining us, Dániel spent a number of years with the Budapest offices of other leading international law firms. In 2009, he was seconded to the Hungarian subsidiary of a large international gas and electricity company (GdF Suez) for six months.
Dániel holds a J.D. from the Eötvös Loránd University, Hungary 2006 and is a member of the Budapest Bar.
In addition to his native Hungarian, Dániel is fluent in English and has a good command of German.
