Giuseppe D’Agostino joins Bird & Bird as co-head of the international Finance & Financial Regulation group

International law firm Bird & Bird appoints Giuseppe D’Agostino as co-Head of its international Finance & Financial Regulation practice. Giuseppe was a senior representative of the Italian Financial Services Authority (Consob) where he worked in a number of roles, up to  Deputy General Manager from October 2011 to September 2019.

He has wide and robust competencies in applied regulatory banking and financial services industry issues. Giuseppe is recognised by the market as an expert in asset management, investment services, banking and FinTech.

Giuseppe will work to build up a truly international banking and financial services regulatory practice and to strengthen FinTech capabilities across the firm. He joins partners Joss Hargrave (UK) and Michael Juenemann (Germany) as co-Heads of the practice ensuring an optimal balance of geographical distribution, competences and expertise. 

During his long professional career, Giuseppe has been, among other things, a member of the "Joint Committee Sub-committee on Consumer Protection and Financial Innovation" (JCSC CPFI), established by the European Supervisory Authorities (ESA), and member of the "Standing Committee on Financial Innovation" (FISC), established by the European Supervisory Authority for Markets in Financial Instruments (ESMA).
