Bird & Bird advised technology company Pinja in acquiring software company PiiMega

We advised technology company Pinja, which is majority owned by MB Funds, in acquiring software company PiiMega Oy, which specialises in the digitalisation of supply chains, e-commerce and ERPs for the forest industry. Oulu-based PiiMega employs some 100 specialists and has clients all over Europe.

Bird & Bird advised Pinja in all legal aspects of the transaction.

Pinja's CEO Veli-Matti Nurminen comments on the business acquisition that with Piimega, the company can better serve their customers "right where industrial renewal and digitalisation are currently in high demand: more efficient and responsible utilisation of natural resources, circular economy solutions, and the building of a carbon-neutral digital society."

Pinja has grown significantly during the past few years. With the recent acquisition, the company has purchased altogether eight companies over the last three years. Bird & Bird has advised Pinja in all of these acquisitions. After the acquisition of PiiMega, Pinja employs approximately 550 specialists.

The Pinja's estimated pro forma revenue for 2020 is around 50 million euros and it is currently the market leader in the production of SaaS solutions for industries such as the forest industry sector and manufacturing industry.
