Bird & Bird appoints Vince Baudille as a partner in Sydney, expanding its Real Estate practice

International law firm Bird & Bird has appointed Vince Baudille as a partner in the Sydney office, expanding its Real Estate practice group.

Vince's appointment continues Bird & Bird's considerable expansion in the Australian market as the firm seeks to fulfil its ambition to be the number one law firm for organisations being changed by technology and the digital world.  Vince's appointment forms part of the firm's wider Asia Pacific growth strategy which has seen a number of senior appointments this year, including the arrival of 4 other new partners to Bird & Bird in Sydney in the last two months.  Sophie Dawson has joined the firm's Dispute Resolution group, Anthony Latimer and Steve Johns the Corporate group, and Richard Hawkins has joined Bird & Bird's leading Media, Entertainment & Sports group.

Vince joins from Norton Rose Fulbright and advises banks, developers, investors (both foreign and domestic), landlords and tenants on all facets of real estate and infrastructure development law.  At Bird & Bird, in addition to working closely with the firm's Corporate team, Vince will have a particular focus on assisting the growing Energy & Utilities team based in Sydney, which has established a considerable practice focusing on renewable energy projects.

Jonathan Baker, International Head of Real Estate at Bird & Bird comments: "At Bird & Bird, the Real Estate group plays an important role in major corporate and commercial projects across the firm. The appointment of Vince in our Real Estate practice in the Asia Pacific region will not only increase our ability to advise clients in this area but it will also bolster our capabilities in the Corporate and Commercial groups."

Shane Barber, Bird & Bird's Managing Partner in Australia says: "Vince's appointment continues the implementation of our growth strategy in Australia as we focus on building our Real Estate practice to ensure we continue to provide a comprehensive service to our new economy client base.  His extensive experience in the Real Estate sector and in depth industry knowledge will help us cement our place as one of the world's leading technology and digital law firms."

Vince adds: "Bird & Bird's fully integrated footprint in Asia Pacific and internationally offers me the right platform to better assist clients and grow potential clients. I am very much looking forward to joining the firm and working with my new Australian and international colleagues."
