Bird & Bird Attorneys Ltd is pleased to announce that Pekka Takki joins the firm as Of Counsel starting from 1 September. Pekka will be a member of the Tech & Comms team in Finland, led by Partner Sakari Halonen, which works closely with Bird & Bird's international Tech & Comms Group.
With a special focus on technology, ICT contracts and advisory work, Pekka is one of the most experienced and recognised IT law experts in Finland. The latest edition of leading legal directory Chambers Europe ranks Pekka in the highest 'Senior Statesman' category in the 'Technology, Media and Telecommunications' field – the only lawyer in Finland to be awarded this status.
Pekka has over 25 years' experience in advising numerous technology and ICT industry companies. He has negotiated countless ICT contracts and has advised both local and international companies on various legal matters related to technology law. He has written and lectured extensively about ICT contract related matters. In addition, Pekka has strong experience in dispute resolution matters and working as an agent and arbitrator.
Pekka was one of the founding partners of Bird & Bird Finland's predecessor company, Fennica Attorneys Ltd, and was one of the core influencers in making Fennica a part of Bird & Bird. Pekka worked at Bird & Bird until 2012, before joining another law firm in Finland.
