Bird & Bird's international Corporate team has reached its highest rankings in the annual Thomson Reuters mid-market M&A legal advisory review for the first three quarters of 2016, being ranked in the top 50 in ten league tables across the world.
The international team was recognised for the first time for its worldwide mid-market M&A work (deals valued up to US$500 million). It was also ranked in the top 30 in further four regional league tables: in Europe, Australia/New Zealand, Benelux and the Nordics, and in the country league tables for France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK.
In Europe, Bird & Bird rose to 19th place from 20th place last year. Similarly in Benelux it rose to 27th from 30th, remaining in the top 30. In Australia/New Zealand, where the firm reached the M&A advisory report rankings for the first time since the opening of the Sydney office in October 2014, it reached 30th place. The work in the Nordics soared to 12th place from 24th in the previous year.
In Spain, Bird & Bird rose to the top 15, reaching 13th place against 19th last year. The M&A involvement in Germany reached the top 40, flying up the rankings to 36th place from 45th last year. The firm’s work in Italy was ranked in the top 20 (18th), and in the top 30 in the UK (26th).
