Bird & Bird climbs rankings in global dealmaker league tables for 2016

Bird & Bird's Corporate team has soared in the annual Thomson Reuters mid-market M&A legal advisory review for 2016, being ranked in the top 50 in five tables across Europe.

The international team was recognised for its regional mid-market M&A work (deals valued up to US$500 million) in Europe, Benelux and the Nordics, and in the country league tables for the UK and Germany.

In the Nordics rankings, Bird & Bird was ranked in the top 20, rising to 14th place from 26th place last year. Similarly in Benelux, where the firm was ranked in the top 30, it climbed to 27th from 30th place. The European work was ranked at 42nd place.

In Germany, Bird & Bird was ranked in the top 40, flying up the rankings to 35th place from 54th last year. The firm's UK work was also ranked in the top 40.

Peter Veranneman (Germany) and Stefano Silvestri (Italy), partners and joint heads of Bird & Bird's international Corporate group say:

"The rankings reflect that our team continues to increase its market share and to advise on larger and more complex cross-border transactions, despite the increasing competition in the M&A market in Europe."
