Energy Storage to 2020 and Beyond

Increasingly we see Storage as the centre of focus for future energy systems at different scales. This paper looks at the current position in the UK and what we need to do next to open the doors which will enable industry to make Storage the success we all believe it can be.

Our views are largely consistent with the views expressed by industry across Europe and within the UK. We see the use of digital systems as the key enabler which will allow the transformation of energy systems.

We question the definition of Storage as Generation and look at why that must change.

We also cover:

  • The Where the How
  • Current UK deployment
  • UK policy and Market Development
  • Legislative Change
  • International Examples
  • Potential generic deployment structures
