E-commerce sector inquiry: the provisional findings of the European Commission (related to competition law)

On 15 September 2016, as part of her Digital Single Market strategy, the European Commission published a report containing her provisional findings of the e-commerce sector inquiry. This report reveals the e-commerce practices that could lead to a restriction of competition. The findings included in the report may have a major impact on the future of the e-commerce sector in the EU. In this article, the most important developments and practices identified by the Commission will be discussed as well as their potential impact on competition and related competition law concerns. The final report is expected to be published in the first quarter of 2017.
